Woody Claris of Claris Building Company has long been recognized in Chapel Hill, Durham, and Chatham County as a creative, innovative, and detail-oriented custom builder. As the president and owner of Claris Incorporated, he has continued to provide area homeowners with the same distinctive and original designs and livable floor plans that have become his professional hallmark for over 30 years.

As a small family owned construction business, Claris, Inc. has developed its “Building Confidence” by steadfastly maintaining the philosophy of building affordable yet high- quality homes with a more hands-on approach. This personal touch provides every home or addition, no matter what the size, with the experienced and undivided attention required to create a truly unique and distinctive home to meet the special needs of each of its clients.

Having learned home construction from the ground up, Claris can boast custom homes in many of the finer neighborhoods in the Chapel Hill area, such as The Oaks, Silver Creek, Southern Village, and Chapel Ridge. As a member and past president of the Home Builder’s Association of Durham and Orange Counties, his Parade of Homes entry, Twin Gables, won the ‘Best of the Best’ award in the 1993 Executive Homes division.
